Where is the course held?

At Mogo Zoo

How do I find Mogo Zoo?

Go to On the front page, left hand side, you will see a location map and ability to get directions from your destination to Mogo Zoo.

What do I bring?

  • Copy of your TTL Experience registration
  • Your digital SLR camera and lens/s
  • Any camera accessories you may have, such as tripod, monopod, lens hood, etc.
  • Memory card/s
  • Fully charged battery and spare if you have one, plus battery charger
  • Your camera manual for referencing those hard to find features on your camera
  • Backpack or similar to carry your camera gear as you walk around the zoo

Photography Level?

  • The course is ideal for:
    Camera enthusiasts and more experienced photographers, e.g. those with a sound understanding of photography and the basic functions of their camera
  • Objectives
    To improve your photographic knowledge and expertise by utilising different techniques. Learn how to photograph through glass and how to 'make the wire disappear' when photographing animals at the zoo

What is the program?

  • Day 1
    • 12 noon - arrive at Mogo Zoo reception area
    • Lunch
    • 2 hour tutorial presented by June Andersen
    • Brief by Clive Brookbanks on zoo etiquette and safety
    • 2.30pm - until zoo closing
      Behind the scenes photo shoot of zoo animals accompanied by Clive and June
  • Day 2
    • 8.00am - 12.30pm
      Behind the scenes photo shoot of zoo animals accompanied by Clive & June
    • 12.30pm - 2.00pm
      Lunch and photo review
  • Lunch and morning/afternoon tea all included

In case of bad weather?

The course will proceed as photography does not require good weather and cloudy conditions are perfect for some subjects. We also have the Education Centre which we can use for indoor projects and presentations.


Sturdy and comfortable walking shoes.

What to wear?

Bring casual clothing suitable for all weather so you can dress for any conditions – hot, wet, cold or windy but comfortable enough to move around in easily

How many will be attending?

No more than 8 participants will be in the course.

Are refreshments provided?

Lunch on both days plus afternoon tea on Day 1 and morning tea Day 2

Is parking provided?

There is plenty of parking available at Mogo Zoo.

Do you recommend or organise accommodation?

We don't organise accommodation but can make suggestions for suitable local accommodation.

Will I have access to the instructor to ask questions during the course?

Absolutely, June Andersen will accompany participants around the zoo whilst they are taking photos on both days and during the photo review at the end of day 2 when there will be time for Q&As

Can I get a refund if I cancel?

If you do need to cancel you must advise us in writing by email or post and this advice must be received by us no later than 10 working days prior to commencement of the course for you to receive a full refund.

Cancellations made between 5 and 10 workings will be charged a cancellation fee of $75. Regrettably, no refunds can be made after this time and all cancellation fees will be treated as a direct donation to the Mogo Zoo.

What if Mogo Zoo cancels?

In the very unlikely event that Mogo Zoo should cancel any course, the opportunity to re-schedule will be offered or a full refund given.
